How Murmur protects your diary
Murmur is designed for private writing, so privacy protection sits at the first layer of the product.
Diary Content
Your diary entries are encrypted on your device before they are uploaded. The server stores encrypted content, not readable plain text.
Diary Key
Your diary key stays on your device and is never uploaded to the server. On a new device, you need to enter the correct diary key again to read old entries.
Privacy Lock
The privacy lock protects access on the current device. It does not replace the diary key and does not change already encrypted entries.
Account and Sync
Murmur uses your account to sync encrypted entries, basic profile data, and necessary service state so your records can be restored across devices.
